BUSINESS LICENSING

All persons/businesses who engage in business in the City of Millwood must obtain both a State of Washington & City of Millwood business license prior to commencing business activities.

Requirements

  • All persons/businesses who engage in business in the City of Millwood must obtain a State of Washington and City of Millwood business license prior to commencing business activities. 
  • All businesses physically located within Millwood city limits, regardless of revenue generated, are required to have a Millwood City business license.
  • A Home business application is required prior to securing a general business license through the Department of Revenue. The Home Business application can be found here. There is a one time application fee of $50.00 for a Home Business License.
  • A non-resident business license is required for businesses, physically located in other jurisdictions, that travel to do business in Millwood and earn more than $2,000.00 annually.
  • A non-resident business license is NOT required for businesses, physically located in another jurisdiction, that travel to do business in Millwood and earn less than $2,000.00 annually.
  • If more than one business is being conducted at a single location or site, a separate business license is required for each business.
  • Business licenses are valid for 1 year from date of issue.


Applying for a Business License

The City of Millwood partners with the Washington State Business Licensing Service (BLS) to provide business license services for the City. Business owners will apply for a City business license when they apply  for their State Unified Business Identification (UBI) number. You must have registered with the State of Washington and received a UBI number to obtain a City of Millwood business license. 

  • Apply for a Washington State UBI number and City of Millwood business license. You will be redirected to the Department of Revenue (DOR) online Business Licensing Service (MY DOR.) In order to access the system, you will be required to log on or create a user ID to proceed with the application process.

  • Add a City of Millwood business license
