PROJECT UPDATE: Construction Has Begun!
Construction on the Argonne Road Rehabilitation Project officially started Monday, July 6. Expect significant congestion through the Argonne corridor for the duration of the work. With traffic reduced to one lane in each direction and left turns from Argonne prohibited, delays are unavoidable. We're working with businesses to maintain access and continuing to look for opportunities to refine the traffic control strategy, but we recommend planning ahead. Trent Avenue will be the primary east-west route across the corridor during construction. Detour routes are signed and we encourage their use.
Looking Ahead: Next 3 Weeks
Week of July 6: Crews begin rebuilding the northbound lanes, and all traffic will shift to the two west (southbound) lanes, with one lane running each direction. You’ll also see median curb removal near Buckeye and Trent.
Week of July 13: Northbound lane reconstruction continues. Crews will also remove some sections of curb and sidewalk, adjust manholes and utility covers in the roadway, and begin electrical work for the signal work.
Week of July 20: Electrical work continues. Crew will begin repairs to weak spots in the road base and preparation for new sidewalk and curb installation.
