Construction Is Starting Soon!
Construction on the Argonne Road Rehabilitation Project is anticipated to begin on Monday, July 6. As crews prepare to start, residents, businesses, and commuters may begin to see construction activity within the project area.
Here's what to expect as work gets underway:
Project Scope: This phase focuses on rehabilitating the existing road surface between Trent Avenue and the Union Pacific Railroad. Work also includes updating pedestrian ramps to current ADA standards and constructing a pedestrian hybrid beacon at Buckeye to improve crossing safety.
Traffic Control and Construction Phasing: Traffic will be maintained in both directions throughout construction but reduced to one lane each way while work is underway. Lanes will shift several times as rehabilitation progresses.
Left Turn Prohibition: With one lane in each direction, left turns create significant delay and safety risks. For that reason, left turns will be prohibited for the duration of the project.
